I have always had a love for golf. This sculpture is about an idea. Its very simple in shape and design, but the exciting moment it captures is one every golfer has come to know and love.

There is a moment when you're on the fist tee-box, you've just finished stretching out and taking your practice swings, and have stepped up to your ball.  As you go into your backswing your mind is running through all the little things you've been taught to do.  Keep your head down, turn your hips, bend your knees, keep your elbows straight.  In a split second, you forget everything and swing away!

Impact is that moment when you have connected with the ball and before you even see it you can feel if you've sliced, hooked, or just crushed straight up the fairway.

Custom names can be engraved for an additional charge

San Juan Globe

If you have ever had the opportunity to live, stay or even just visit the San Juan Islands I bet you understand this sculpture.
I grew up on Orcas Island which is the large horseshoe shaped island on the top of the globe, and have recently been able to move back. The idea for this sculpture came to me last summer as I was sitting in Eastsound watching all that was going on at the local farmers market. I was thinking about how some of the local people I know have not left the islands in years just because they had no want or need. I was also noticing those who where visiting the islands brining with them such an excitement that is so contagious. Well I was just sitting there thinking the thought came into my mind how the islands are there own little world almost separate from the rest then the an image came into my mind of a world globe; not with the traditional contents on it but of the Islands from the San Juan Islands in their place.
I have on the bottom the globe I have “SAN JUAN ISLANDS” then below that “OUR OWN LITTLE WORLD”. This small version is not cast in bronze but is out of a casting stone then gold leafed and hand painted. I am working on a larger version that will turn and will have my sunset relief around it which I will cast in bronze and I hope to have that done late summer of 2008

 Kokopelli

30"x8"x8"

$3,200.

Holding a Flute made by Master Flute Maker Brent Haines that is 12.5 inches long and concert quality sound. I was over talking to Brent with my wife one day he had a picture of Kokopelli on his wall While there my wife saw the picture and said why don’t you sculpt one of those, and I do everything my wife tells me, so! But really after she said that I got thinking, how cool would it be to have a Kokopelli that was a fine art bronze sculpture but also was a flute stand. Kokopelli could hold one of Brent’s flutes, then when you want to play the flute your self you can take it out of his hands. I did some research on the history and found that there was more then one image of kokopelli, and lots of different legions about him and what he did. To represent that I have four original images on each of the sides of the base, to represent the history and the fun diversity of his character.

 Search For Truth

14"x13"x11"

$1,300.

Search For Truth" is a very symbolic piece, the idea comes from a dream an ancient prophet named Lehi had, in part of that dream there was a rod that led to a tree, that rod represented the word of God. I have engraved on the rod the scripture John 3:16 "For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son" in 13 different languages around the rod. With the hand just larger then life.
One day well I was sitting pondering over the symbolism of Lehi’s dream I got thinking about some good friends of mine and where they are in their lives, the idea then came to me how there are a lot of people who are living good lives and who have parts of the gospel of Jesus but who don’t quite have a grip one the rod yet, but are reaching for it.

The Salt Lake Temple is truly amazing. It is such a powerful symbol of devotion and faith. Growing up in the LDS faith out side of Utah, whenever I would see images of the Salt Lake temple on TV or in pictures, it always touched me and was uplifting to me knowing what it represented and the cost it was to early pioneers to build it.
“In July of 1847, the first company of Latter-day Saint pioneers stepped foot in the Salt Lake Valley. Within a few days of arriving, their leader, Brigham Young, waved his hand over a hard, dry spot of ground and announced, "This is the right place." Forty-six years later, on that precise location, the Salt Lake Temple was dedicated unto the Lord as a sacred house of worship.”

I love studying about the life of the Savior Jesus Christ. This sculpture is the first of a series about what Christ did for each one of us.

ST LUKE 22:44 “And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”

I made this sculpture intended for a gift for my 3 married siblings, my parents and my grandparents for Christmas gifts. All of who where married there in the Manti Utah Temple. Keeping in the tradition my beautiful wife and I where also married there in Dec 2005. Where you see "Manti Utah Temple" I engraved their names and wedding dates for them. It works great for a book end.
